Where Blnded Bliss began

Hi, I’m Mia.

I have always had a deep appreciation for tradition and old-fashioned ways of living. Growing up, my relatives in Sri Lanka affectionately called me “grandma” because I loved routines, simple living, and the idea of life centered around family and care. Even as a child, I dreamed of living on a farm. A neighbor with a small homestead helped bring that dream to life, and I spent countless hours feeding horses, tending chickens, and soaking up the peace that comes from working with your hands.

Life didn’t take me down a traditional homestead path, but those values never left me.

A blended family built on intention

I met my husband Tom in the fall of 2017 while we were both working at IBM. We didn’t start dating right away, but when we did, the connection was immediate. Tom came into our relationship with two sons, and I brought two daughters. Over time, our family grew again with the addition of another boy and girl. Suddenly, we found ourselves navigating life as a blended family of eight.

Family has always been at the center of everything we do. We both wanted to give our children the support, stability, and presence we sometimes wished we had growing up. Blending a family comes with challenges, but it also brings growth, resilience, and deep joy. That balance became the heart of our family business and inspired the name Blnded Bliss.

From setback to new direction

In 2022, we had the opportunity to purchase land and begin homesteading. When the deal fell through, it was heartbreaking. At the same time, it forced us to slow down and refocus on what really mattered. With Tom working and me at home with our two youngest children, we began looking for ways to create something meaningful and sustainable for our family.

I have always been frugal by nature, and one day the idea of making soap for our household came up. It felt practical, creative, and aligned with my values. Tom encouraged me to take it further and suggested we turn it into a business.

That was the beginning of Blnded Bliss LLC.

Why our ingredients matter

Having previously worked with Arbonne, I was already very aware of how much what we put on our skin matters. Our skin absorbs far more than we often realize, and I wanted to create products that felt safe, nourishing, and honest.

Our soaps and body care are made with carefully chosen, natural ingredients. We avoid unnecessary additives and focus on what truly benefits the skin. Every product is made with the same care I use for my own family.

This isn’t about trends or perfection. It’s about intention.

What bliss means to us

Blnded Bliss isn’t just a name. It reflects how we choose to live.

Life doesn’t always follow the path we expect, but we believe there is joy in adapting, growing, and appreciating the small things. Whether it’s a quiet moment, a handmade bar of soap, or the comfort of knowing what you’re putting on your skin is clean and thoughtfully made, that’s our definition of bliss.
